Similar to Black Swan, It begins with a pitch black screen and then the titles came across the screen, the fonts were white and they faded into the background, then expanded. It looked as if the titles were coming towards the viewer, and then they dissolved into the darkness. Throughout the titles was a non-diegetic sound, which went in harmony with the titles because the music was very staccato and sharp; which could connotate danger approaching.
The film begins with a hint of light. We then see a wide-shot of the location, from what I can see it looks like a basment as it's quite bare, and it's underneath the house. I then see a woman coming down the stairs. The camera is at a low angle, so it seems as if we're looking up at this woman coming down the stairs. Then walks towards the camera, which is placed in front of a shelf, she picks something up that looks like a blanket. We then hear a diegetic sound of her shivering, which is a negative connotation of possibly fear.
The first 2 minutes was majorly the titles, as they took up a lot of time. However, I am intrigued to see the rest which means I need to make sure that my main task makes people want to keep watching.
